Who is Mr. Carpet? Back
Mr. Carpet, Michael Lamendella, was born and raised in Chicago. Growing up, Mike was always taught the importance of a strong work ethic.  He began his career in the flooring business in 1993, working for a large shop-at-home company.  Although he was one of the top salespeople at his company, Mike knew customers deserved better service.  So he decided to leave and start his own company, Mr. Carpet Shop at Home.  Mr. Carpet made his entrance in early 2001 with the mission to rescue flooring customers from confusing sales, limited selection, high-pressure sales tactics, and poor service.  Now with more than 15 years of experience as a shop-at-home designer, Mr. Carpet has visited over 10,000 homes in the greater Chicagoland area.  In a period of eight years, Mr. Carpet has managed to become the fourth largest shop-at-home flooring company in the Chicagoland area.  The secret of Mr. Carpet’s success is creating happy customers, of which 80% are referrals.  Since Mike knows a business does not grow overnight, he is building Mr. Carpet the old fashioned way: one happy customer at a time.

We prefer to provide quality service.  Next day installation may sound convenient but it actually allows companies to stop you from shopping further to see if you really got the best deal.  In addition, if we offered next day installation, we could only offer an extremely limited selection of qualities, styles, and colors.  Instead, we custom order to each customer’s individual tastes and needs allowing you to choose from our entire selection instead of what is simply in stock in our local warehouse.  The quality flooring we offer comes from various mills throughout the United States and other countries.
