The secret of Mr. Carpet’s success is creating happy customers--and this is reflected in the fact that 80% of our customers are referrals. In a period of eight years, Mr. Carpet has managed to become the fourth largest shop-at-home flooring company in the Chicagoland area.
How it all started:
Mr. Carpet, Mike Lamendella, began his career in the flooring business in 1993, working for a large shop-at-home carpet company. Although he was one of the top salespeople at this company, Mike knew customers deserved better. So he decided to leave and start his own company. Mr. Carpet made his entrance in early 2001. Mr. Carpet Shop At Home’s new mission was to rescue customers from confusing sales, limited selection, high pressure sales tactics, and poor service.
Who is Mr. Carpet:
Mr. Carpet, Michael Lamendella, was born and raised in Chicago. Growing up, Mike was always taught the importance of a strong work ethic. He began his career in the flooring business in 1993, working for a large shop-at-home company. Although he was one of the top salespeople at his company, Mike knew customers deserved better service. So he decided to leave and start his own company, Mr. Carpet Shop at Home. Mr. Carpet made his entrance in early 2001 with the mission to rescue flooring customers from confusing sales, limited selection, high-pressure sales tactics, and poor service. Now with more than 15 years of experience as a shop-at-home designer, Mr. Carpet has visited over 10,000 homes in the greater Chicagoland area. In a period of eight years, Mr. Carpet has managed to become the fourth largest shop-at-home flooring company in the Chicagoland area. The secret of Mr. Carpet’s success is creating happy customers, of which 80% are referrals. Since Mike knows a business does not grow overnight, he is building Mr. Carpet the old fashioned way: one happy customer at a time.
